    Story

    The Yellow Days Story:

After spending time at the Pikpak refugee camp in Leros, Greece important details arose:
-War refugees are feeling useless and powerless as humans beings. There are no activities to develop their skills or even a kitchen to cook their own food.
-Locals have been amazing hosts for the refugees, but unfortunately their businesses are struggling due to lack of tourism.
-There is a big gap between neighbours and refugees. There is not clear connection. They barely know each other.
-Europe seems to have forgotten about the refugees; they are no longer news and no one seems to be interested anymore.

What we can do about it?

    The Yellow Days Plan:

Cultural workshops where refugees and our yellow volunteers will share cultures, love. There will be teaching and learning from each other.
Fun and practical workshops where all the knowledge can been utilised after the festival. Refugees can learn new languages which can be used in the future. Learn how to be self sufficient and grow their own food, develop skills and inspire the little ones to find their own skills.
Our activities aim to plant the seed of awareness and capability so it can grow big and flower.

The Yellow Days team will also be sending basic necessities that will be collected in UK and Spain.

Refugees will run their own workshops, teaching their culture through activities; language, food, crafts. Through this we can spark morale, values and remind them they are important.

Everything needed will be bought from local neighbours thus supporting the local economy.

Connecting refugees, locals and volunteers eliminates the gap and reconnects them as neighbours, creating a solid network and foundation.

Let´s remind Europe and the rest of the world that they still there! They still need help and resources and they still need a home to live in.

WE ARE JUST PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE!
