    Story

Ian, a recently retired Sergeant with Merseyside Police, has an affinity for mental physical and psychological health services for blue light responders. He believes in ensuring those who protect the vulnerable and serve their community deserve the best in welfare & wellbeing practices.

I saw the advert on LinkedIn about ex police officers wanting to fundraise for causes to support blue light responders, and knew right away this would be something that would not only be a challenge but would be a rewarding and amazing experience he could cherish forever, also knowing he supported his brothers and sisters in blue, even after retirement like he did during his working life.

Ian is trekking to the tip of Kilimanjaro with the Emergency Service Challenge team (https://emergencyservicechallenge.co.uk).

We here at Thin Blue Line Radio (https://www.thinbluelineradio.com) are going to help share his journey and his story as well as his fundraising for the Police Treatment Centres, the Police Children's Charity Trust & 999 RE:SET. All proceeds, once donated & collected, will be evenly distributed between each of the charities and Thin Blue Line Radio will be alongside Ian to share this wonderful donation to each of the important organisations on our social media and website.

    PTC Website: https://www.thepolicetreatmentcentres.org/

The Police Treatment Centres is a registered Charity providing treatment and support, including intensive, police-specific, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, for injured and ill Police Officers, Retired Officers, and Police Staff.

    TPCC Website: https://www.thepolicechildrenscharity.org/

The Police Children’s Charity is a registered Charity which aims to support Police families by helping to ease the financial pressures of bringing up children in the face of life-changing circumstances. These circumstances could involve the death of the Police Donor Parent or their partner, or where the Police Donor takes early medical retirement. This applies to both on and off duty incidents or issues. The Charity supports 23 Police Forces nationally and over 300 children.

    999 RE:SET Website: https://resetemergencyserv.wixsite.com/999reset

999 RE:SET is a registered Scottish Charity which aims to support Emergency Services Personnel and their families by facilitating access to outdoor activities in recognition of mental health benefits. The Charity hosts an emergency services weekend annually in Aviemore where tri- service (police, fire and paramedics) attendees and their families can access outdoor activities for example mountaineering and cold-water swimming.
