Story

After all the devastation and damage in the British Virgin Islands I wanted to help and really the only way currently is donations. I have friends out there who made it through the hurricane by hiding under their house (after the roof and windows etc started to blow away mid storm). They have lost their house, belongings and business, but they’ll be ok, others however won’t be. I visited the Islands a few years ago and they made a big impact on me, more so than any country I’ve visited. So, it’s close to my heart and I want to help.

I apart from donating a small amount of money myself I thought I would do something to raise a little more money. The hurricanes have destroyed most homes, schools, shops, businesses etc and it will take a long time to fix this. The Virgin group have a charity set up to help and 100% of donations go towards help – see link below.

So I’m going to do a 10k (6.2 miles) run this weekend. I can run 6.5k at the moment so I’m hoping 10k will push me - I’m saying this won’t be easy for me :). My children Noah and Sofia will also be doing a run, most likely around the cricket field a few times. So the sponsorship is for a join effort. There will be pics and Strava tracking to show our effort.
