Thomas and Niall are coming together to raise money for a powerchair that will enable Thomas to play football at his local powerchair football club.

Thomas lives with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a progressive, life-limiting condition that causes muscle degeneration. As a result, Thomas can no longer use his legs or propel himself in a manual wheelchair. To simply enjoy football with his peers, he needs a specialised powerchair built for the game.

At just 20 years old, Thomas has faced, and continues to face, challenges no young person should. Amidst these difficulties, football remains one of his greatest passions. He deserves to fall back on and participate in the sport he loves.

For many of us, access to sport is essential for our mental, social, and physical wellbeing. The same is true for Thomas. But he faces overwhelming barriers to taking part.

This is where you come in.  

With your help through donations and/or sharing Thomas’s story, you will give this wonderful young man an opportunity to enjoy sport the way sport should be enjoyed, through promoting confidence, friendships and the ability to express himself.  

To help raise funds, Thomas and Niall will be taking part in multiple running events over the next year, with Niall pushing Thomas in a manual wheelchair. The first event is the Vitality 10,000 on 28th September 2025.
