Story

The existing pavilion was built for the Thornham Cricket Club (TCC) over 40 years ago and was moved from the old Playing Fields on The Green to the new Sports Field. It is no longer “fit for purpose”.
Its changing rooms are now used for storage as both teams change in the Village Hall. The floor is disintegrating in places, the windows need replacing, and there is no room for match officials to retire away from the players. The kitchen area is cramped and there is no proper space for serving food and refreshments except outside.
The proposal includes two fully functional changing rooms, a kitchen and room for officials. We will also have facilities for women and girls, as well as disabled athletes. These will be positioned around a large central area capable of seating teams and spectators.

A further area at the back can be used as a meeting room.
It makes the pavilion a true ‘home’ for all including cricketers, footballers, and softball players as well as for other sporting and social events which take place on the playing field.
