Story
The Challenge entails the 3 biggest UK peaks (Ben Nevis, Snowdon & Scafell Pike), 13200 ft of climbing and 494 miles between the three. I aim to begin in Wales with Snowdon, cycle to the Lake District and do Scafell Pike and then cycle all the way up to the Scottish Highlands to finish on the summit of Ben Nevis. Without sleep or any considerable breaks I will be aiming to do all of this in under 40 hours.
This is my regular place of worship so I would like to raise money to help in the continuous maintenance and renovation to ensure I can continue to attend Mass here. Not only is it my parish church but a landmark, as it is famous for having the tallest spire of any parish church in England.
The church was built in the mid-19th century to a design by the Gothic Revival architect Joseph Hansom, the designer of the hansom cab. St Walburge's is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building.
