I've raised £2000 to get equipment for Ninewells Hospital, Dundee's Physio Department and Orthopaedics.

Last October one of our friends was in a very serious motorbike accident.
He was taken to A&E at Ninewells Hospital where the trauma team worked tirelessly to save his life. They managed to stabilise him, and he was put under the care of the team within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
His prognosis was not good, and they told us to prepare for the worst, and although they did not expect him to make it, they did everything within their power to keep him alive.
He underwent more than 10 surgeries and received over 52 pints of blood, 10 times the amount the human body normally has! They never gave up on him and kept fighting to save him. We were told that even if he did survive, he could have brain damage and he might lose his left arm and leg but they kept working on it and managed to save his leg, unfortunately he lost his left arm.
It was such a worrying time, not knowing what the outcome would be. Only two weeks later, as if by a miracle, he was awake and was able to mouth words. Even though he wasn’t out of the woods yet, he was getting better every day! Thankfully he suffered no brain damage from the accident!
He was moved to HDU for a short stay and then onto ward 18, where he has spent the remainder of his stay.
Due to the extent of his injuries, he has had to learn to do most things from scratch with the help of Occupational and physical therapists, who have been very patient and understanding.
The skills and expertise from the nurses and doctors not only saved his life but has also gotten him to a point where he is almost ready to come home!
The care and attention he has received at Ninewells has been second to none and we cannot thank them enough for their hard work.
To try and give something back we have decided to undertake the Three Peaks Challenge, which, involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours! This challenge consists of 13 hours climbing 11 hours driving and is not one for the faint of heart!
The challenge starts in Scotland at Ben Nevis, which at, 1,344 metres, or 4,409 ft is the tallest of the three. Then we will drive south into the Lake District where they climb Scafell Pike (978 m, 3,209 ft).
The final of the three is the Welsh mountain, Snowdon, standing at no less than 1,085 m, 3,560 ft.
We are raising money for equipment for Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, to help future patients and we would like to be able to buy a gift for the staff for all their hard work! This is where you come in…
If you would like to help us in our fundraising efforts, please donate to our JustGiving page or drop us a message to arrange donation.
We will set off on 24th June 2022 so wish us luck!
Thank you in advance for your help and support!
