Story
A team of volunteers from Thrive Architects left Romsey, Hampshire on Wednesday 16th March 2022 with two vans filled to the rafters with aid generously donated by our staff and others.
Thrive Architects paid for the hire of two long wheel based vans, fuel, accommodation and tunnel so all donations to our Just Giving page will purchase much needed equipment, and not fund the trip.
It's estimated that the drive will be approx. 19 hours from Calais to our first destination. We have two teams each taking their turn to drive.
Our first destination will be Olsztyn, in the north-east of Poland which is very much under prepared for the Ukrainians fleeing their homeland.
Once in Olsztyn we will unload the vans and then with the money donated via our Just Giving page we will re-stock the vans from local supermarkets, hypermarkets, DIY stores as many times as we can and deliver to another destination in the south nearer the border with Ukraine.
In the event we have money left in the account upon our return this will be donated to the official Ukrainian Appeal fund.
We don't need to justify our reasons for going, or the cause, you only have to see the news to realise the devastation.
Please give whatever you can, it will make a huge difference.
We Thrive together to bring a smile from across the miles.

2 years agoFollowing our successful Ukrainian Aid appeal earlier this year, it was hoped that we would return to Poland and purchase more much needed equipment with the remaining money we raised. Sadly, due to everyone’s commitments this isn’t going to be possible, we decided to donate the remaining £4,265.56 to the UNICEF Ukrainian Children’s appeal. £4,265.56 will go a long way to keeping Ukrainian children safe, educated, fed, and warm this winter. “THANK YOU” for all your support, generosity, and kindness, we couldn't have done it without you.

3 years agoDue to the overwhelming support of our Ukrainian appeal, we are planning our next Humanitarian Aid trip to Poland. Again, all expenditure relating to transport, fuel, accommodation will be self-funded by those going. Our Just Giving donations will again buy much needed items. We want to purchase a generator, possibly two, family tents, hot water urns and more essential emergency items. We couldn't do this without your amazing support. Thank you again. Will keep you posted of our next mission.

3 years agoWith your generous donations via our JustGiving page we purchased more supplies from a hypermarket in Poland, these items included power packs to charge mobile phones, blow up beds, roll mats, duvets, blankets, dried and tinned food, torches, batteries, a pallet of water, dried and UHT milk, toilet rolls, baby formula, more nappies, underwear, vests and socks for males and females, both young and old. The checkout staff in the hypermarket couldn't believe their eyes. Photograph shows Patryk loading one of the vans at the hypermarket.
