Story

As you know, in October 2020 Freddie was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive type of cancer. Freddie went through numerous treatments including radiotherapy and chemotherapy with both mum and dad taking turns to be with him as only 1 parent could be by his side due to the pandemic. Throughout his treatment, Freddie continued to be his usual cheeky self. Seven weeks ago it appeared Freddie was virtually clear of cancer and would start maintenance chemotherapy.

Sadly we are putting together this Just Giving page as Freddie is no longer winning this horrendous battle. Within the last few weeks we have found out, not only has the cancer returned, but there is no more treatment available for Freddie. All the doctors, nurses, Hazel and Chris can do is keep Freddie as comfortable as possible in his final weeks.

So this is where you all come in. Would you believe there is little support for parents who lose a child. Small benefits which have helped throughout Freddie's treatment such as Carers allowance and child benefit will be taken away. We want to raise funds to ensure both Hazel and Chris do not have financial worries. Their priority should be spending what little time they have with Freddie and to allow them the chance to grieve.

We all know Chris has raised thousands to help others in a similar situation. We now feel it is time for us to help them.
