Story

In 2023, we celebrated Tiger Marketing’s 10th anniversary. And as part of those celebrations, we wanted to do something big to mark the occasion. So, our MD and Head Tiger Lou is heading to Uganda for two weeks in February with 65 other volunteers who will be doing essential repairs and improvement work on a school there.

The school is a safe haven for the children, and includes a Special Educational Needs school called ‘Our Little Tribe’. Our Little Tribe provides assisted education for nine children with different disabilities and also offers vital therapies that the children’s families could not otherwise afford.

The long-term plan is to add an extension to the school, comprising three trade areas where children can learn carpentry, electrics, sewing and weaving skills to help benefit their community.

But there is urgent work to be done first, including:

- Completing the construction of a classroom

- Making repairs to the school following damage by landslides as a result of Uganda’s recent rainy season

- Working with local builders and tradespeople, completing bricklaying, plastering and painting

The more money we raise, the more we can do to improve the education facilities for these children, giving them a better, safer environment for learning and broadening the opportunities available to them.
