Tiki came into my life in November 2014 at 8 weeks old along with brother Beni and they completed our family. They were playful, full of energy and extremeley loving as you would expect them to be. In Spring 2016 tragedy hit and Tiki became injured and was rushed to the vets. Sadly he was misdiagnosed and as a result additional damage was done to his legs resulting in difficult surgery to each back leg. He had 4 major operations and ended up with metal fused hind legs. He made a full recovery and remained the happy purry boy he always had been. Sadly we were not out of the woods, he developed a bone infection which couldnt be treated and he had to have one leg amputated. He was much happier without it and adapted amazingly despite the fact his remaining leg being fused by metal plates, he had no issue getting around. There was always a fear of infection striking again and sadly it did and 6 weeks of anti biotics later he fought it off and the leg stayed strong. A few days ago, Tiki was immobile and rushed in to the vets, fearing the worst again. The fact he lives life to the full like he has a normal cats body had resulted in him dislocating his hip and fracturing the bone. Completely unrelated to the previous problem but caused by the fact he tried to do too much on limited body parts. He now has a referral but this has to be settled up front and the excess to pay is high which is delaying his treatment and prolonging the pain. It is unknown what he needs until CT scans are carried out. I have worked continuously physically, mentally, emotionally and financially to protect and keep my boy alive and now as I lay with him on the floor, I fear I am unable to do so because of money. He has been through so much and bounced back amazing everyone he sees, brave and strong and we have had such a journey in 18 months, I cannot and will not give up on him now. I am asking for any support to cover the excess of my insurance and shortfall it does not cover to allow Tiki to carry on playing, purring and living his life. Thankyou for reading our story xx
