Story

On behalf of the Brooks Family...

On 20th April 2021, Tim Brooks suffered a Sudden Cardiac Arrest whilst playing golf at Clevedon and tragically passed away three days later.

We are working alongside, and with the support of, Clevedon Golf Club, to raise money for the provision of two Automated External Defibrillators (AED) plus cabinets. These will be in addition to the one already in-place at the Clubhouse and will be placed at the farthest points of the course.

Golf courses are a common place for out-of-hospital Sudden Cardiac Arrests to occur. CPR alone provides just a 9% chance of survival; however, administering CPR alongside an AED, increases this to more than 50% chance of survival, with survival being twice as high if an AED is used within five minutes - making the location of AED's crucial.

Any additional funds raised will contribute towards our long-term aim of raising awareness and improving provision of AED's at golf clubs around the country - currently two-thirds of UK golf clubs do not have an AED on site.

Tim was a larger-than-life character who was loved and admired by all those who knew him. With your help, we can encourage change and save lives in our local community and beyond, in his memory.-
