Story

Both St Richard's, Hanworth and Holy Trinity, Twickenham are enduring the scourge of the Church of England - rainwater coming in!! St Richard's had their copper roof stolen and part of Holy Trinity's roof has collapsed.

Take a look at St Richard's - Project Grow . This is a wonderful plan to see their church building developed for mission and ministry in the 21st Century. It is estimated that Project Grow will cost £1.3 million. St Richard's have been energetically fundraising but it is extremely difficult to raise this kind of money on their own. Our local group of 16 churches (called the Hampton Deanery) are committed to helping the initial phase - to make the current building waterproof.

We at Holy Trinity have had our own problems part of our roof collapsing last summer with repairs costing £100,000.

Jesus, in the parable of the widow's mite, encourages us to give courageously and selflessly. Bearing in mind the relative size of the tasks that face our churches, James Munro and I have planned a sponsored cycle ride around all the 16 churches in our Deanery. We hope to highlight Project Grow and anything we raise will be split 90% to St Richard's and 10% to our own roof fund. Please give what you can - and you're very welcome to join us on 19th May - it will be fun!
