Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

Yo everyone, so I'm heading out to Jamaica in December to visit Alpha Boys School, an institute in Kingston set up over 120 years ago, to help the poor, sick and uneducated. It is run by 'The Sisters of Mercy', a group of nuns who dedicate everything to helping educate, train and provide food and shelter for young boys in need.
Of all the vocations taught, music has been the most prolific, many Jamaican reggae and dancehall artists who have gone on to do great things were supported by the school at a young age.
There's no doubt that Jamaican culture and music has always had a huge impact on the UK , now more than ever and I believe it would be great to give something back to those who are supporting and nurturing future talent.
The money raised will help towards the day to day costs of running a school, it will pay for needed sports equipment, important medical supplies, school stationary, materials needed for general upkeep, food and water for the schools pupils and its staff, the list is endless.
As well as financial donations and with my trip being only two weeks before Christmas, it would be great to take some gifts over for the boys too. Any sports equipment, football shirts, small musical instruments, musical accessories, anything that you think would be beneficial to the students would be greatly appreciated. Follow the link for more information about postage of gift donations.
I understand not everyone is in a position to donate but there is one last thing i want from you, i want you to follow the link and like our facebook page and you will be already helping the school and the boys just by the click of a button. The more people who like our page, creates more awareness which will lead us to more opportunities of receiving more donations.
I truly appreciate it if you've read this far, now spread the word and lets give the school a Christmas to remember! I give thanks!
