Story
My kidneys failed 3 years ago. I ended up fighting for my life. I was put on dialysis. I had to learn to walk again due to lost muscle mass. Although I would be on dialysis for the rest of my life I began to gain strength. Then on fathers day last year I fell ill. I was rushed into hospital and put in an induced coma. I was in this coma for 4 weeks. The doctors told my wife I was not responding to treatment and that they would switch off the machinery keeping me alive. The doctors told my wife that she should expect the worst. Fortunately on the day they switched the machines off I did wake up. I was 8 stone wet through and as weak as a kitten, I couldn't even push the end of a right guard spray. I had to.learn to walk again but in truth can only walk about 30 steps. Apart from medical appointments and a radio show I do once a week I an trapped at home. I found out about the Peugeot Metropolis and it would be ideal for me to get out of the house. I know many disabled people ride these in fact there is a riding club that meet with people like me. I have not worked in 3 years so could never afford the £8000 cost. I am going to try and sell all my cds ( I have 6000) to see if I I can afford it but would be oh so grateful for any help. I am currently going through tests for the transplant list but that is only a temporary fix. There is.no cure for my disease.
