I'm raising £1000 to support two causes close to my heart — MMVC and Monmouthshire Rural Support Centre - by skydiving from 13,000ft

Story

I've wanted to do this for as long as I can remember — and this year I'm finally doing it. On 23rd Sept, I'll be jumping out of a plane at 13,000 feet, strapped to one of the Red Devils' tandem instructors, at Netheravon in Wiltshire. There'll be a 15-minute plane ride up, then 40 seconds of freefall reaching around 120mph before the parachute opens at 6,000 feet for a slower, five-minute float back down.

I'm doing it to raise money for two causes that are close to home for me:

Monmouth Male Voice Choir (MMVC) — I recently joined the choir singing baritone, and it's been one of the best decisions I've made. MMVC is a 90-strong Welsh male voice choir based in Monmouth, keeping the tradition of Welsh choral singing alive through performances across the UK, from the Royal Albert Hall to the Principality Stadium. I want to help support the choir I'm proud to now be part of.

Monmouthshire Rural Support Centre (MRSC) — as a farmer myself, I know first-hand how much the pressures of the job can weigh on you, and how much it matters to have somewhere to turn. MRSC is a grassroots initiative based at Raglan Livestock Market, offering real support to local farming families and the rural community across Monmouthshire. It's a cause I believe in deeply.

Every pound raised will be split equally between the two. If you can spare anything to sponsor me — even a fiver — it would mean the world, and it'll definitely help take my mind off the fact I'm about to throw myself out of a plane. Thank you!
