    Story

Heaven Hill Academy is a village primary school in Nepal that currently educates 86 students from the age of 3 till the age of 10 in six classes (Pre-school, lower kindergarten, upper kindergarten, grade 1, grade 2 and grade 3). The school was founded as an alternative to the governmental schools, where education is very poor and  private schools, that most parents cannot afford due to the tuition fee. Heaven Hill Academy helps children in need through providing their traditional uniform, pencils, notebooks and quality education that they could not afford otherwise. The school buildings were constructed and the school is maintained mostly from donations and with the hard physical work of devoted village people and volunteers.

Due to the often bad weather circumstances and natural disasters, the existing buildings need to be supported to avoid their falling down. On the other hand the school is planned to be developed by starting grade four from the next school year, so that students finishing grade three this year can continue their studies here and more children can be welcomed to the school. For this purpose a new building has to be constructed, since currently there are just enough classrooms for the children.

I am presently spending time as a volunteer in Heaven Hill Academy, and I find the principal and teachers to be wonderful persons. The children are very sweet, they love coming to this school, they are full of love and gratitude, and they are eager to study. The people working here try to give them the chance to improve and achieve their dreams regardless of their backgrounds through continuous struggles for the maintenance of the school. The story of the school and the people really touched me as soon as I arrived here, and I want to see the dreams of the principal and children come true.
