I've raised £5000 to enable our charity to offer young people and adults with a disability and our senior community specialist one on one and group dance tuition

At Timestep Community Dance we provide sessions for young people and adults with a disability or learning difficulty. Leila Higgins journey from wheelchair to walking, in her ambition to tap dance has been the inspiration for our work. Dance based activities to music actively encourage agility, balance, and co-ordination. Classes are designed so that everyone can join in and enjoy themselves and are suitable for wheelchair users and those with little mobility. Carers stay at the community sessions and are encouraged to join in should they wish! Timestep Community offer One to One Pilates sessions which increases mobility, strength and flexibility.
We also provide dance/fitness classes for Seniors too. Whether this is dancing or watching others dance, moving to the music or even just tapping your toes to the beat, we have seen that these actions provide an instant form of creative release that translates into a feeling of well being. This helps to encourage the mature person to lead a more fulfilled and socially interactive life.
