Story

Myself and my amazing wife Siobhán launched Time to Tackle in October 2019 after my long and difficult battle with poor mental health culminating in a suicide attempt and extended hospital stay in April 2019. We as family decided we wanted to do all we can to support those in need and try to stop anyone going through what we did at that time.

Time to Tackle offers free football and peer support to anyone who is suffering, we want you you to know you are not alone and there are people who are able and willing to help. During lockdown we have been unable to meet as a group so we have been trying to support each other in different ways like zoom calls, whatsapp groups and recently we delivered 250 care packages into the community.

We are working hard in the background to ensure we are accessible for as many people as possible by starting many new groups in different communities throughout Scotland post lockdown. If you can please support us as we edge closer to a potential relaunch, it would be most appreciated! All money raised will go towards kit, balls, bibs, cones and pitch costs.

I am aiming to complete the David Goggins running challenge, running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. I have embarked on many challenges since my release from hospital to raise awareness of mental health and mental illness. I've walked many miles for several hours overnight, firewalked and ran a marathon on my own. This is going to be the toughest test yet both physically and mentally, but I've learned getting out your comfort zone and achieving things is so empowering and great for the self esteem and the mind!
