I have decided to run the worlds toughest foot race - a 230KM ULTRA marathon across the Amazon Rainforest.

Ill be facing 30+ deg heat and an average of 80%-90% humidity with 4000 meters elevation gain, which in comparison is approximately 5x Slieve Donard in height.

As well as these obstacles, the race is self sufficient so I will be carrying all my food supplies and equipment needed for the 5 days, which in total is around 12kg whilst facing the challenge of being approached by wild animals, insects and anything that moves.

I have chosen to raise money for Four G day opportunities, which is a full time service offering day placements to adults with a severe learning disability. They offer a wide range of activities to the young adults that attend and with your support they will create further opportunities & experiences. I have seen the work first hand that goes into Four G, the dedication the staff put into the running of it and the benefits and happiness the young adults gain from being involved in it.
