Story
To return the C54 Skymaster to flight we will need to dismantle, inspect and rebuild the four engines.
Each engine weighs 1.5 tons.
We have a stand which has our "spare" engine fitted to it, but our assessment is that while it was probably fir for purpose in the past in the modern world the risk is too great.
We have been offered a specially built stand which will allow the engines to be rotated through 180 degrees to enable them to be safely dismantled.
