Story
On 4th June 2016 The Barber family suffered a devastating blow by Richard suffering a brain stem stroke whilst on holiday in Cornwall. This left Richard with locked-in-syndrome, leaving him unable to communicate or move his body. This left a devastating and huge impact on their family, his amazing wife Stephanie and their 3 wonderful children Holly 13, Leo 11 and Daisy 9. Richard had to have 24-hour Carers in their home and had to have their home fully adapted to meet Richards every day basic and complex needs. Steph made a big decision on behalf of their family to leave her job in Law as a PA to become a full time Carer to Rich. Steph was also employed to train other Carers to help look after Rich.
The Barbers are one of the most kindest caring family you could ever meet. Even with what they were going through they still managed to make everyone else smile and laugh and were always there for others. Steph and Rich are selfless and are always looking out for others. Unfortunately, after 7 years of fighting, Richard has sadly passed away with his beautiful wife and children by his side.
We have set up this page to help support his amazing wife and 3 children. We know everybody will want to help in anyway they can and we really appreciate any support you can give to this wonderful family.
Lots of love
Tina and Trina (Steph and Richards best friends)
