In April 2016 the biggest bomshell ever happened. My daughter Kerrie was diagnosed with cancer a sarcoma the size of a rugby ball in her chest and lymphnoma. She had shown no signs of being so poorly other than a little breathlessness. After tests and investigations she was transferred to Nottingham city hospital where she quickly received the care she needed. A major operation followed to remove the tumour, intensive care on a respirator. we were told she may not survive it was heartbreaking. This was followed by intense chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The staff on Hogarth ward were like our second family NO they have been our second family being there for each and everyone of us, wiping our tears and giving us all their support However most of all giving Kerrie the care, attention and support she needed through her trauma. Nothing is ever to much for them. The patients are all between 16-24 they have their own rooms which are ensuite , theres xboxes, playsations ,laptops etc. They provide activities for them all if they want to take part. its also a place for parents of fellow suffers to meet and chat which is a comfort. So we want to raise some money to donate to the ward to say A VERY BIG THANKYOU so they can buy something for the ward to help the patients and make there stay feel more like home. As for Kerrie we don't know what the future holds for her but she has kicked cancer so far and is fighting for a brilliant future and looking forward to spending time with her little girl who will soon turn 2.PLEASE HELP US SUPPORT THIS WONDERFUL WARD.
