Story

Hi, we are fundraising for our new assistance dog charity-Tiny’s legacy!

Our aim is to reach people with autism and/or learning difficulties, and provide them with their own qualified assistance dog. This is life changing for an individual with a disability, enabling them to gain confidence and have independence, to live a happy, fulfilling life alongside their new best friend!

We are named Tiny’s Legacy, in memory of a special little dog named Tiny. When a client is being assessed to see how an assistance dog can best help them, they would have to pass ‘the Tiny test’. With a particular client, who has autism as well as mental health difficulties, she found any communication with others incredibly challenging. So during the assessment process, Tiny proved the best support. Pushing her head under the clients hand, to get her focus back, and sitting next to her for the duration of the appointment. Not only did this prove to our dog trainer that an assistance dog would greatly benefit the client, but also for the client, this confirmed how her life would change living alongside her very own assistance dog!

Initially, we need a total of £5000 in order to register. Following this, we will need a further £10k per assistance dog. This will go towards the high level of training in the dogs, in order to meet the high standards needed to qualify an assistance dog. Each dogs training is specialised to best support the client. The money needed per dog will also go to the dogs needs.

Please donate to help us reach more individuals with disabilities who would benefit greatly to have their own assistance dog! Thank you
