Story
Around 8 weeks ago I was involved in a bad enduro accident. I went on a day trip to Wales to practice my technical riding skills which only sent me to the hospital. My bike looped out on a steep slope and came falling down towards me, my fingers got trapped in the chain and sprockets of the still spinning rear wheel, badly crushing my fingers on the left hand. My ring finger was badly broken as well as a shredded tendon and flesh wounds.
I was sent to Bristol Southmeade hospital's specialist hand care centre having been told of the possibility of amputation. After 3 surgeries, 2 days in hospital, 2 skin grafts over 100 stitches and 2 3inch long pins put into my bone, I was released to go home. Due to the risk of infection and the high amount of drugs I was prescribed, I was away from work for 2 weeks. When I returned to work I was given light computer duties instead of working on machines. I have just returned to my second job as a lifeguard after 7 weeks off and many earning opportunities lost. After dozens of trips to and from Bristol and lots of gruelling physio, my bone has healed early and my 3 inch pins have been removed leaving me free to drive again and to continue with my physio programme.
RACE DETAILS: As it stands I should be back racing in around 3 weeks, but I will be focusing on regaining as much strength and movement as possible before I start riding again. So far I am healing up faster than expected, but there is some damage that can never be fixed. The tendon which goes to the top of my finger has been removed which means I will never bend my finger tip, and the nerves are perished too so much of the feeling is gone. As I am now missing most of the Acerbis Nationals and the club championships I was competing in earlier this year so I am treating this summer as my off season. I have decided the best thing to do is compete in the coming beach races this winter, my main aim being ready in time to make Weston beach race in October, as well as later competing in Barmouth, Skegness as well as other small beach races and mainly the Enduro at Le Touquet! These beach races have around 1000 competitors from around the world including some famous professionals, they have a mass start and last a duration of 3 hours where both man and machine have to be at their peak performance. They usually attract around 100,000 spectators and many more viewers on international Television especially at Le Touquet in Northern France. The British beach racing scene consists as a series of shorter races held at different locations around the UK with a champion for the series hailed at the end. I see these races as an opportunity for making more of a name for myself at a national and international level and for developing my skills for motocross.
I am currently training and working flat out to raise as much money and become as fit as possible in preparation purely for racing. I have always funded most of my own racing which started when I was 13 where I did and still do put everything I make into it. I thank the people that currently help me to achieve my dreams as a rider and progress in the sport to a higher level and reach my ambitions. Under these difficult circumstances I am finding myself struggling to pay for my racing this year, this is why I am in need of some extra funds to finance my progression in the sport. I have tried to ask for as little as possible and really any donation will be greatly appreciated however small it can be put to use; but the amount of races I can compete in will entirely depend on how much we can raise. Meanwhile I am trying my hardest to get myself into shape for my return to racing so I can be as competitive as possible and be successful in the sport I love, which my life revolves around. Sincerest thanks for any donations you can make.

After almost losing my fingers in a bike accident, I'm trying to make a comeback to British beach racing at Weston, Skegness, Barmouth as well as others and French beach race Le Touquet.
