I've raised £3000 to raising funds to get treatment for tyla as efficiently as possible , helping him to lead a happy and healthy life

Tyla is a gorgeous 2 and a half year old little boy. He was born 6 weeks early and spent his first few weeks in special care, from about 3 weeks old Tyla started to struggle with his feeds. Everytime he was fed he would be violently sick. Tyla has been in and out of hospital while doctors have been trying to find out what is causing his feeding problems. Unfortunately Tyla has been misdiagnosed so many times, when he was four months old he had a feeding tube put in, this helped for a short while but he was soon back to being sick. In January 2017 we took tyla to a different hospital for a second opinion. This was supposed to be a 3 day stay so that the doctors could assess his feeding, unfortunately after a routine chest x-Ray tyla was diagnosed with neuroblastoma which is a cancerous tumor. Luckily it was caught in the early stages, but there is a risk it will return and that Tyla will need further treatment. Tylas feeding problems are still on going and the doctors have said Tyla has severe dismobility of the gut. Currently Tyla is fed via a NJ tube (a tube up the nose and into his bowel) and can tolerate very little orally. He gets 2 feeds through his NJ tube a day and one overnight. He also gets 400mls of iv fluids via his Hickman line. The NHS have provided us with one pump for his fluids but if this breaks then me tyla and his brother have to go all the way to Lancaster in the middle of the night for a spare pump. This isn't really ideal and as tyla is on his fluids every night for 8 hours so the chances of the pump breaking are high. We have decided to fundraise in the hope that we can raise enough money to buy a spare pump. Also Tyla isn't coping with his feeds and is losing weight. This means he will need to go back into hospital for TPN (this is a feed that is given intravenously) which is where he is fed directly into his bloodstream. At the moment this is Tylas only hope to be able to get all the nutrition and calories he needs. Unfortunately there is an 8 month waiting list for home TPN so this means Tyla will have to be admitted to hospital for a long time again. After spending 7months of last year in hospital which not only effected us as a family but also effected Tylas development. He is still struggling to cope with the outside world so we are also hoping to fundraise to see if we can get some private care for Tyla, in the hope we can cut his stay in hospital by a considerable amount. Any donations we receive will be greatly appreciated. If we do raise more than we need at the minute then we will keep it in case Tylas cancer returns and he needs further treatment that is not available on the NHS. If Tyla doesn't need any further treatment then the money will go to all the charities that have helped us through this difficult time.
