Story
On the morning of the 4th August 15 our life and any kind of normality as we knew it ceased to exist when we discovered our son James Brazier had taken his own life aged just 25 years of age.
As a family we have struggled to carry on and often life feels pointless, suicide has destroyed our family. It has a ripple effect on everyone around us.
We have been helped greatly by some wonderful people who too have experienced the tragedy of losing a child or loved one to suicide through an organisation called SOBS (Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide) without this support I am not sure that my husband Paul and i would have been able to carry on.
14 months have now passed and we have experienced every emotion but recently I have started to think that in some cases suicide is preventable. It is the biggest killer in the UK of young people under 35, which is a startling and shocking statistic. Suicide can affect anyone in any family and the lack of support I believe is dangerous, we are as a society failing our young people, my son being one of them.
I am planning a Charity event on the 18th November this year in Memory of my beloved James, the money raised will be used to start a charity in his name where I am hoping donate some of the money to SOBS but use some to try to start a local support chat room/ support group for families or individuals who are struggling with a loved one who is feeling like they want to end their life.
Thank you so much for the support we have received in the past year and all of the support will we will continue to receive.

Suicide is currently the biggest killer of 18-40 year old men and on the 4th of August 2015, we lost one fifth of our family, James. He lived with such pain and ever since we lost him, our lives have turned upside down. And we want to stop this from happening to others.
