Weʼve raised £157 to build a new toilet block at a Primary School.

Story
Try to imagine a primary school with 1200 pupils but only 10 toilets!!
( 1 loo to 120 children : A typical new UK school has a 1 to 20 ratio.)
Help us build 24 new toilets so that when you gotta go........you don't have to use the fields adjoining the playground.
The school is in Kalabari, in the north eastern tip of India.
We have a £3500 commitment towards the project by a UK charity and are looking to raise a further £2000. Additional build costs will be met by the Jesuit Community, who set up and operate the school.

8 years agoSo let's discuss the elephant in the room. The fact is that in excess of 500 million people in India practice open defecation for lack of proper toilet facilities. Fact two - more people in India have access to mobile phones than toilets. See http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-37799425 So please help by donating to this project.
