Story

On the 25th of October 2017 my family lost an angel, my beloved nephew, His name was Toluwaloju Samuel Teniola Oketade but everyone called him Toju.

Toju was the sweetest little child full of laughter, energy, the share joy he brought to my family was insurmountable. Anyone who met Toju knew he left a lasting impression, if it wasn’t his smile or his infectious laugh or his inquisitive spirit or his love for food or music.

He lost his battle with Cancer. And my world as I knew it has never been the same again. Myself and Toju were like two peas in a pod, He awoken the child in me and reminded me of the little yet important things in life.

Snapchat is something I always used to capture funny moments with Toju and I, He was always up to something and I made it my mission to catch as much of his antics on camera as possible, little did I know these moments were going to be some of our last together albeit they were some of the brightest, and happiest moments of my life.

Toju meant the world to my sister, my family, he meant so much to me. We are all going to miss you dearly bobo.

My heart is heavy, and it still seems like the worst dream, but God who knows all things has a plan. So, we will be grateful for Toju’s life.

Cancer is such a horrible disease and as most people have come to realise, it does not discriminate regardless of age sex race or social status. Having it strike so close to my heart I am compelled to act for Toju, the little fighter that battled right to the end.

My goal is to raise £10,000 for a Northampton based charity called “Children are Butterflies”. They offer practical, financial and emotional support for parents and families who have been unfortunate to experience the loss of a child and “Nottingham Children’s Hospital” where my nephew spent the last few months and the Doctors and Nurses there worked so hard to keep Toju with us.

To help raise the funds for these causes I will be looking to complete the following planned & unplanned events over the next 18 months….
