The Paper Girls approached me with the idea of fundraising for ‘Tok Pod’ for Aboyne Academy. This project has the full support of Aboyne Academy staff and will be great for students.

The Tok Pod is a space to help our young people with making new friends, a place to help with friendship issues as it provides an outdoor quiet safe space within the school grounds. This special space will be in the form of a pod.

We would like to see if we could raise enough money to buy some furniture to make this happen. The more money we raise the better the pod we can afford. The photos are just an idea of some of the different pod options available on the market.

As some parents will be aware not all of our young people have the best experience at school. Many have trouble making friends and as they progress through school those friendships may change, and many friendships are challenged. The Pod will be a dedicated space our young people can go to work on friendship.

Everyone needs friends, and if we can provide an area to help our young people during thier time at Aboyne Academy this can only be considered a good thing.
