Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Tom and I will be taking on the Ironman challenge in Nottingham in July 2023. For those that don't know what an Ironman is, it's an event consisting of a 3800m swim, 112 mile cycle ride, followed by a marathon! I have never done an Ironman before and this is no mean feat as it all needs to be completed back to back in one day with a total time limit of 17 hours!

I want to raise £1,000 for a local charity in Sleaford, Lincolnshire called Rainbow Stars. Rainbow Stars is an amazing charity supporting children with additional needs and disabilities and their families. This is something which is very close to my heart as my son is autistic. My family and I know how hard it is navigating this difficult path and really value the work Rainbow Stars do.

Rainbow Stars was founded by parents whose children had recently been diagnosed autistic who found that they knew few other families in similar situations and didn’t know where to find support and advice. They support families by organising events and days out and also online and in person via their specially designed Hub in Sleaford. This hub offers a safe and comfortable haven for children and families to meet others, make friends and have fun, as well as having a fabulous sensory room. This team of volunteers currently help and support over 2000 children with complex needs, both hidden and physical.

Please give whatever you can to this amazing charity, every penny is appreciated.
