Story

In July 2019 my 32 year old husband, Tom, was diagnosed with advanced bile duct cancer having spread across his liver. This horrid disease is usually only seen in the over 65s and those with liver damage. Tom doesn’t drink, has never smoked, and his liver is miraculously otherwise healthy. His only symptom was a pain in his side and after lots of negative tests we got the shocking news that we were totally unprepared for. Tom has been given a life expectancy of 6-9 months. Our son was 6 months old at the time.

A recent scan showed that the cancer was stable but chemotherapy is not shrinking the tumours. As we continue through our cancer journey a treatment known as SIRT may be able to help him but it is not routinely funded on the NHS. We are fundraising in the hope that Tom will be well enough to undertake this treatment to at least give us more time as a family.

If Tom survives then any money remaining money will be dontated to Maggies. If the worse happens then it’ll be used to help raise our son.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and thank you if you donate to help us.
