Weʼre raising £500 to complete the final phase of the St. Germans Recreation Ground Restoration

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Over the past four years the Community of St. Germans has slowly been restoring the Recreation Ground, 'The Rec'. This area has been abandoned since 1995 and teams of volunteers have been cutting back brambles to reveal the former football pitch and a beautiful woodland glade. With help from local contractors the football pitch was levelled and seeded and with support from local charities and the Parish Council a new pitch emerged in 2016. Our second phase of work was completed in May 2018 with support from SITA, the community shop and the Cornwall Community Fund to open up the wooded area of the site and build beautiful green oak shelters, benches and picnic tables.
We are now embarking on the third and final phase to link up the site with wood chip paths and put in place an outdoor table-tennis table with biodiverse protective earth banks and willow tree shelter - providing a wind break and natural beauty in one. This funding will also ensure that we are able to continue to maintain the site keeping it cut and safe during the Spring, Summer and Autumn.

About the fundraiser
St Germans, Saltash, UK
I have lived in the village of St. Germans since 2011. I have really enjoyed working with people in the village to restore the Rec over the last four years. Slowly this site has transformed and it is great to see it being used.
