I've raised £5000 to Sponsorship is needed to help a talented 17 year old to fulfil his ambition of becoming a racing driver.

Hi my name is Tom Rawlings I am 17 years old and I have been racing since 2011my first race was in Comer Cadet Class. In my first ever race I managed to finish 3rd, throughout that 1st year I got several other podium finishes but never quite got to the top step, but I had thoroughly got the racing bug and knew that was what I wanted to do when I left school. In my 2nd year in Comer cadets I was runner up in the Welsh Championship and the Llandow Kart Club Championship but finished the year off in style by becoming Celtic Champion and could not wait to start the 2013 season. Over the winter we did lots of testing and fine tuning with the kart and engines and also getting myself mentally and physically prepared by doing lots of training and improving my positive attitude thinking. 2013 was a great year for me and all the hard work and preparation was really starting to pay off, we got some really good sponsorship from 5 different companies that meant we could go after quite a few championships with the money that was made available to me. My sponsors got a lot of publicity when their belief in me paid off by me becoming Welsh Champion, Celtic Champion, Southern NKRA Champion and U.K National NKRA Champion and only just missing out on becoming Midlands Super Prix Champion but unfortunately finished runner up taking 2nd place. In that same year I was leading the Midland Championship final when with 2 laps to go my chain snapped which meant I had a DNF but all in all I had had a great years racing. 2014 was big learning year by moving up to Junior TKM Class with direct drive. I again had several podium finishes and highlight of the year for me was becoming Welsh Champion in my rookie year in this really hard class. 2015 we did not do much racing due to my dad’s business work commitments and the start of my GCSE exams. 2016 we have been doing a bit of karting and again became Junior TKM Welsh Champion but I also started rallying in the Junior F1000 Rally Class. My dad bought a Nissan Micra to start with as we thought it would be a good solid car to run but after 2 events we quickly realized that if we wanted to run at the front we would have to change cars. After a lot of searching we bought a Citroen C1 which is quite a bit quicker and this is now paying off as in only my 4th event I got my first podium finishing 3rd at Caerwent and setting 2nd quickest time on 3 of the stages. The final 3 rallies I had 2 3rd in class and 4th overall and a 5th. I finished 5th in the championship in my 1st season and was by far the highest finishing novice in every event. I finished 5th Overall in the British F1000 Junior Rally Class. 2017 has started off really good with a 2nd at Angelsea in the 1st round of the British F1000 Junior Rally Championship and after gearbox trouble I still managed to finish 3rd in the 2nd event at Harlech Airfield. This puts me in a great position going forward lying 2nd overall in the championship and I can hopefully keep pushing hard. The next few events saw me finish on the podium everytime with an overall win at Cadwell Park. I ended up finishing 3rd in the British F1000 Junior Rally Championship at the end of the year. 2018 I got my full circuit race license and decided to race single seaters in the Monoposto Championship. Its been a great year in one sense that I have managed to put the car on pole for every event and also set 2 new lap records for my class, one at Oulton Park and the other at Castle Coombe and won 3 rounds but unfortunately the car has let me down a few times due to mechanical issues and I have ended up 5th in the championship but still won the Sunbac Nova Award for highest finishing novice.
2019 i joined Jamsport racing to race in the Mini JCW Challenge but need to raise a total of £65000 to complete the season, i currently have managed to raise £40000 through commercial sponsorship but need to raise the balance. Every penny that you can spare will help me achieve my ambitions and goals to becoming a professional racing driver.
