I've raised £200 to support Guide Dogs for the Blind and the Greyhound Re-homing Centre. The money I raise will be split between these two deserving causes.

My wife Elaine has two close friends that are both blind. They both have guide dogs and this is one of the reasons I am running to raise money in the Great North Run 2018.
It is great to see how they are independent with their guide dogs. The dog's support living and allow their owners to live freely and get out and about. These guide dogs are a lifeline to blind people and cost a lot to train.
This is why half of what I raise will go to Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The second half of my fund raising will be donated to the Greyhound Re-homing Centre. I own two greyhounds myself and they are wonderful dogs. Full of love to anyone who will give them a chance. Don't think you have to walk miles with them; they are couch potato's, the laziest dogs in the world. They are just as happy watching TV; as running around a field.
The money I raise for this cause will buy food for several Re-homing Centres in the North East.
Thank you for taking the time to read my GNR story.
All donations will be gratefully received. Thank you.
