While Miguel and I are busy making arrangements for our upcoming wedding, it’s true to say that we are proceeding with somewhat of a heavy heart, conscious of the serious illness that my little cousin and god daughter, Angela is so bravely enduring at the moment. Thankfully I’ve had a little time over the last few weeks to spend with Angela, Tom and baby Ella and to appreciate this very precious time that they have together.

With this in mind, Miguel and I are proposing to extended family members, that if you had been considering a wedding gift that you instead think about making a contribution to a small fund that might help offset some the costs that have allowed Angela, Tom and Ella to spend these precious weeks together (Tom, as you know, has dedicated what would otherwise be working time to be with his family). While we know that the coming weeks will be incredibly difficult for all of them, Tom and Ella will also face challenges as they move forward with their lives as family together.
