Story
Hi folks.
As many of you know I like a wee challenge and after recently completing Ironman Hamburg I didn’t take the chance to raise a few pounds as the Ironman was a bit of a “me on me” thing.
Onwards to December I’m marking my 40th birthday and with the help of my family, I have decided to tick another bucket list challenge of the list which involves running one of the toughest ultra marathons in the world 160km across the Sahara Desert which will be 3 Ultras in 3 days. 🌵🐪
So, I’d really love your help with kind donations to push this mentally for me..
The trip will be 100% be funded by me and any donations received will 100% go to the charities that I have chosen. I have provided a small insight below, but please feel free to check them out yourself.
I would like to provide some support to two local orphanages in Africa. One in Mauritania and the other in Senegal where I am currently working Offshore. This money will directly fund children's welfare, schooling and supply's and hopefully bring a few smiles on little faces that need it. This will be one of the main drivers for me mentally to push me.
The Oakleaf Lions - A local organisation that provides thankless work to kids and young adults with learning disabilities to get them involved in sport and socialising through sport. A charity that my late mother would have loved with her life as a nurse dedicated to young adults with learning disabilities.
Foyle Hospice - Provides ongoing palliative care services for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses while supporting their families and loved ones across the Western Health and Social Trust area in Northern Ireland.
The DQ fund - This charity provides high level therapeutic mental health counselling, suicide prevention and kids suffering from bereavement.
If you can afford any donation no matter how little it would mean a lot to some of these charities.
Thank you Very much.
Tam, family & you 💙
