Story

I am embarking on a trip to Dominica in July 2019! Dominica, a Caribbean island, is known as the 'nature heart' of the Caribbean, with huge biodiversity and marine wildlife. Dominica is truly a gem of our world and I am internationally volunteering as a part of Operation Wallacea.

Dominica was recently hit by hurricane Maria in 2017 and I, along with my class mates, will be looking at areas of rainforest and coral reef that could benefit of regeneration. Real-time problems are being solved by real-time solutions and hard work.

The trip includes terrestrial and marine work including: Open-water diving, snorkeling, wildlife conservation, sampling, surveys and measuring and studying the effect of climate change and acidification on various species.

Dominica is a spectacular place and I will be working as a volunteer to really investigate the future for Dominica's land and marine wildlife and conservation of the rainforest, especially after the devastating hurricane Maria in 2017! As a result, the trip is very expensive and I am reaching out kindly for any thoughtful donations towards this incredible cause! This trip would further enrich my study of Biology and Geology as expert scientists and volcanologists give lectures throughout the trip! Thanks so much!
