Todmorden CE (VA) J, I & N School, is a Church school with a big heart and a warm community. Our school, in the centre of Todmorden, has been growing in success for over 170 years, since it first opened in 1844. We are situated between the park, cricket field and Christ Church graveyard. Because our school yard sits lower than the water table of Todmorden, it is often flooded. Since September 2017 our school has flooded 6 times. We were also heavily hit in the 2015 Boxing Day floods and the February 2020 floods. The amount of flood water over time has left our yard looking tired and worn.

Like many schools, in the current political climate, we are really struggling to make ends meet. But with the support of the Diocese, we would love for our children to have an inspirational, fresh, lovely playground. As a school we need to give a 10% contribution to any bids or grants that we can gain. We would love it if our community could donate pennies to raise this 10%. Our aim is to get a playground with safe drains, new tarmac, safe gates, nice seating areas, dry areas under canopy and playground furniture that makes it a fun place to be!
