Story

We took over our small village pub in December 2017 with it being closed for 6 months previously. It has taken us months of hard work to earn back the trust of our locals and to start rebuilding the pub’s reputation.

In March 2018, we were informed that the pub would be going on the market. To be honest, we were incredibly excited to be given the change to buy the freehold. By May, the pub was listed. We started working extra hard to pull in as many people as we could, build our reputation further and to raise enough money for a deposit. At the end of June, we were told that as there had been no offers put on the pub, they would be taking it to auction at the end of July! This left us no time at all to raise the money that we needed. We have been begged by locals not to give up, to keep fighting - but we’re fast running out of options.

By some miracle we were able to raise some funds and we submitted our offer - which has since been rejected. The pub company were expecting a higher offer, and with VAT on top its something that has been pushed too far out of our reach.

This is not something that we ever saw ourselves doing, but if any of you beautiful people could help us to keep our little pub, we would be eternally grateful.

Thank you
