We are launching this just giving campaign to support my courageous 38-year-old brother-in-law, Lee, following his devastating terminal cancer diagnosis. Instead of planning for a long future, Lee, his wife, and their 12 and 14-year-old daughters are facing an unimaginable journey together.

From the very beginning of Lee’s diagnosis (January 2026) with oesophageal cancer, we were given hope. The cancer team were incredibly positive about his prognosis and believed that, although the journey would be difficult, he had a type of cancer that could be treated with the hope of a cure.

We held onto that hope through everything — the treatments, the fear, the uncertainty, and ultimately the life-saving operation that we believed was going to give Lee a future.

But after everything he has endured, and following his recent PET scan, we have now been given the devastating news that there is no further medical treatment available to him and that his cancer is now terminal.

It is almost impossible to put into words how heartbreaking this is. To go from believing that Lee had a curative cancer and that we were fighting towards a future together, to being told that there is nothing more that can be done, is something none of us were prepared for.

In such a short space of time, our hope for the future has been replaced with an unimaginable sadness and the cruel reality that we may be facing losing someone we love so deeply.

This campaign aims to relieve the heavy burden of daily living costs so Lee can focus entirely on his health and comfort without financial worry. More than anything, your generosity will help this beautiful family alleviate everyday stress and focus on creating precious, lasting memories together during the meaningful time they have left.
