Story
As many of you know, on August 2nd, after a gig, a young man jumped out into the road as he wanted to end his life and was hit by my partner Tony Cowards. Tony's facebook OP.
Luckily for the young guy, Tony drives really carefully, after many, many years of doing such high miles, and driving late nights. The young lad has been very lucky. He's going to make a full recovery, which we are so grateful for!
Sadly, Tony's car has not been so lucky and looks like it's getting written off, and this comes with a massive expense, the car is currently impounded in Wakefield, incurring charges and is 80 miles away from home. Unfortunately, the insurance company won't cover this, and as the accident was involving a pedestrian, there is no insurance to counterclaim on, although we are trying to pursue through the MIB (motor insurance bureau). The other costs have been really extensive up to now, and we aren't even a week in.
As a pro circuit comedian, Tony relies on his car to work and travel to and from gigs, and as it stands, this is going to be impossible to sustain without transport.
He's really been affected by this event and is taking time to process everything that has happened. I'm trying to support him in every way I can, I just can't help him with the financial cost, sadly.
If you know Tony, you know what a fantastic guy he is, and he wouldn't hesitate in a moments notice to help others, what he's not so good at, is asking for help, so I have set up a just giving crowd funding page to try and get him back on the road and help absorb some of the cost's and to at least give him one less major stress to have to worry about.
Can you help Tony get back on the road?
