My name is Tony, i am currently having post operative chemotherapy to treat bowel cancer, in my time on the ward ive had conversations with nurses who have told me what they would like to maximise patient comfort whilst being treated. As with most things, medical equiptment is very expensive and has to be purchased from specific suppliers who charge a premium.. the chairs alone are around £2500 each, but having sat in the existing chairs myself for upto 4.5 hours at a time, i can confirm that most need replacing, as well as other equiptment to ensure patient comfort isnt a problem.. i would like to raise some money specifically for these amazing people, to help with these costs and make the ward as comfy as possible. As we know, cancer will now affect 1 in 2 of us, so theres a high chance at some point, that someone we know and love, will be sat in one of those chairs 😞 so please help me to help them provide the best possible envirnonment for future care.
