Story
Cancer radiotherapy treatment saves lives. We need more radiotherapy equipment. And we need it locally.
To raise funds for this I am member of a group doing (and I will complete) the Marlborough to Wroughton half marathon walk on Saturday 10th December
The funds I raise will go towards equipping Swindon with two linear accelerators, enabling cancer patients from Swindon and Wiltshire to receive radiotherapy locally.
The Radiotherapy appeal target is £2.9 million and to date has reached £1,190,834.
My target is £500 and to date I’ve raised £305 with a good old donation sheet. But now that I've made it easy to pay over the internet, let's see by how much I can beat my target.
All the funds I raise will go to the appeal (no costs) and Brighter Futures Radiotherapy will get the 25% tax reclaim. If I could raise another £521 they would get £1000, so please be generous.

8 years agoWell the weather could have been drier but we all completed the walk. In fact it was really enjoyable. Thank you so much for your support. I am delighted to say that I raised a total of £1263.11 and have collected it all except for the JustGiving payment which takes 10 days to come through. I'm told the groundworks are underway and the 2 radiotherapy units should be operational within 2 years - at a cost of almost £3 million - all paid for by voluntary donation. Thank you again for your contribution

8 years agoI've reached £936 already. So, thanks to my friends and family's amazing generosity and with 11 days still to go I am going to top double my target. Most people have preferred to offer their donations by post; hence the figure on the JustGiving site. Keep the funds rolling in and donate with JustGiving or email me with your offer. Thanks

8 years agoI only launched this 3 hours ago and I'm already up to £605, so £1000 (after the 25% tax rebate) is looking very achievable. Keep the money rolling in, please., It's a facility any of us and our families may have to take advantage of.
