Story

As a Footballing community we’ve decided to come together in unity to help one of our own. Levi Dewey sadly lost both his legs due to an illness. Levi‘s ultimate aim is to walk again with a target of walking onto the pitch at his beloved Derby County.

Myself, Nat, adam and Shawn from Willington Fc have created a fundraising day on 25th June with a Levi Dewey charity match sandwiched in the middle. We have a jam packed day of fun, food and festivities to make this a day to remember.

Levi has played virtually all of his life for Willington Fc

Levi’s was at the Willington from soccer school in 2007.

2008/09 season saw Levi play a year up at U8’s in the BJFL with Neil (his Dad) & Wes Belmore as managers.

2009/10 season saw Levi remain at U8’s again playing in the BJFL.

2010/11 season saw two U9 teams playing in the BJFL (Sat) & DJFL (Sun) with Levi playing for both teams.

Both these teams continued up until the 2012/13 season when the management team split and created their own Sat (DCFL) & Sun (BJFL) teams.

So Neil’s Wanderers team played in both leagues up to 2017/18 season. The 2018/19 season saw only 1 Wanderers team playing in the BJFL on a Sunday. This team continued into to 2019/20 season however this campaign was curtailed due to Covid. Levi therefore played for Willington for 13 years. Credit to Levi and his Dad Neil👍
