I've raised £500 to send to the family of SGT Saman Kunan who selflessly gave his life trying to rescue the Thai school children trapped in flooding caves.

Story

I was very moved by the story of ex Thai Navy SEAL SGT Saman Kunan, who volunteered to help in the rescue of the trapped children in the flooding caves and was deeply upset when he died during a rescue attempt. He had left the Navy some time ago and was working in Airport security when he volunteered and put himself in harms way offering his specialist skills. He leaves a young family behind.

I could not find a credible donation site up and running so I am launching this one and will close it in 2 weeks and promise that I will find a way to send 100% of all donations received to his NOK who whilst obviously being in deep shock must be incredibly proud of Saman.

I have visited Thailand a number of times and have always found Thais friendly, genuine, caring and accepting of whatever life throws at them.

Although in very sad circumstances, I am very glad that I can contribute something back to these wonderful people.
