My father at the age of 26 was a victim of knife crime in September 2001, and sadly passed away after being airlifted to hospital. My nan who has also passed had imbedded a gold cross which was protected by a plastic plate in the headstone at his grave. A few weeks ago I received a call saying that it had been stolen. after sixteen years untouched someone had used force to get access and take it. After posting on Facebook to see if anyone had any information I noticed it was shared 375 times however, no one still knew anything. I have decided as an 17 year old daughter who didn't know much about my father to give him a new gravestone, I feel this is my chance to have a say in anything and connect with him while making him proud as I was so young when it happened. I am devastated what sort of world we are now living in where some think it is okay to take from the dead. I am thankful for anything given as it will help me massively, if we manage to reach or even go above the target I would like everyone to know that the remaining money will be going to the Air Ambulance for doing everything they possibly could on that devastating day.
