It is with great sadness we are launching a funding page to help one of our Top Tots families through a period in their lives which we can only describe as any parents worst nightmare. Following a period of illness that was initially diagnosed as a virus, little Ethan just wasn’t getting any better, Mum and Dad kept raising the issue with their GP and A&E that they just knew their little boy and something just wasn’t right. Eventually on Christmas Eve they pushed hard enough to get a CT scan which sadly discovered their one year old baby boy had a tumour on his brain, Ethan was swiftly taken to Southampton’s neurological unit where he was fitted with a shunt to drain a build up of fluid and he underwent brain surgery 4 days later on the 29th of December. Their worst fears were realised this Friday as it was confirmed by the biopsy he had stage 4 embryonal cancer and will now undergo many months of chemotherapy. We have offered to start this page in order for the family to have some financial backing whilst they’re devoting their time between Ethan’s needs in hospital at Southampton and their twin 4 year old daughters Amber and Freya. It goes without saying Ethan is their priority however bills still need to be paid and this money will go towards their travelling to and from Southampton, day to day bills whilst they’re not at work and keeping everything going until the day Ethan can come home where he belongs.
