In a bid to get fit, build confidence and achieve something amazing, a brave team of staff from Ravenscliffe school in Halifax, West Yorkshire have signed up to a massive challenge…Tough Mudder Yorkshire 2018!!!

‘Tough Mudder’ takes place in Skipton within the grounds of Broughton Hall. The course consists of over 20 obstacles located along a 10-mile run, involving copious amounts of mud, varied terrain and thousands of other people taking part… IT’S GOING TO GET MESSY!!!!

We have been training hard over the last few weeks to get ready for this event and we are super excited to be attempting such a mammoth task!!

In the run up to the big day – Sunday 29th July 2018, the RHS team have decided it would be great to try and raise some funds for a worthwhile cause – AndysManClub. This is a movement aimed at halving the number of male suicides under the age of 45.

Did you know?

The number of men dying by suicide in Great Britain in 2016 was 4,287; a rate of 15.7 per 100,000, down by three per cent on 2015. Men are still more than three times more likely to take their own lives than women. Middle-aged men are still at greatest risk.

Around three-quarters of all suicides in 2016 in the UK were male.

Figures released in September 2017 by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show the suicide rate in Great Britain has fallen by 4.7 per cent in the last year.

This is a really meaningful cause that is very close to the hearts of several RHS staff, who have lost someone in this way. Let’s start supporting each other, raise some funds and make sure ‘IT’S OKAY TO TALK.’

Andys Man Club is run exclusively by unpaid volunteers each day from central Halifax in West Yorkshire. Every penny donated to Andy’s Man Club goes directly in to the movement and creating new groups. Often spent on advertising and awareness materials.
