I've raised £1000 to send the Sandell’s on a short break

Lily Sandell could be described as just an ordinary 10 year old girl from Moulton. As friends of both her and her family, we know Lily to be so much more. Always smiling, polite and chatty, Lily is a young girl who like many, loves to spend time with her friends and as a hobby has become a mean baker! So what sets Lily apart from the rest?
In 2015 Lily was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus which is a condition leading to excessive accumulation of the fluid in the brain. As a double whammy during tests a brain tumour was also found and unfortunately due to its location cannot be removed. However, Lily underwent surgery to have shunts fitted to help control the Hydrocephalus and now has regular MRI scans to monitor the tumour.
In August 2017, just two days into a family holiday, Lily became very ill and the family travelled home to get her to hospital. It was discovered that Lily’s shunts had become infected and she had to undergo more surgery to resolve the problem. During surgery, Lily suffered a stroke, resulting in the loss of all mobility down her left side. The upside, is that Lily got through the surgery and slowly buy surely is regaining her strength and mobility but for now still relies on a walking frame and wheelchair to get around.
Despite all that she has faced Lily has remained the wonderful, cheerful girl that we all know and love. She has recently returned to school a few mornings a week and is constantly baking and coming up with new ideas with her friends to raise money for charity. So to be told in the Autumn her tumour had grown was devastating news. Both Lily and the family as always tackled the issue head on and Lily started a year long course of weekly chemotherapy in September.
A group of close friends from Moulton have decided to raise money to help send this deserving family on a short break once Lily's chemotherapy is over. We hope in some way to make up for the holiday that was cut short.
To do this we are taking part in this year's Tough Mudder at Belvoir Castle, Grantham on the 12th May 2018. The event involves a testing 10 mile run through thick, cold mud and more than twenty obstacles to scale! It's said to be toughest event on the planet!
Please help us send Lily and her family on a short break by sponsoring us
Kindest regards
